Description: This tour, known worldwide as the FULL DAY BASE OF THE TOWERS, consists of visiting a specific area of the park: the Ascencio Valley and River sector. From the welcome center or starting point, we’ll then reach the most anticipated viewpoint in Torres del Paine National Park. At this location, we’ll provide an orientation on the necessary procedures, including the use of trekking poles and personal safety for each passenger. We’ll also lighten our loads before embarking on the adventure. Restrooms are available at this starting point.
We will begin picking up passengers from their respective accommodations between 6:15 and 6:30 am. After a hearty morning mate, which we’ll offer our passengers, we’ll begin our journey without pause to the Laguna Amarga entrance. Here, we’ll register and show our QR code, which corresponds to the entrance ticket that each passenger must purchase the day before visiting the national park. IMPORTANT: (Since there is no reliable internet in the park or nearby, passengers are advised to purchase their ticket the day before the tour and take a screenshot. If you have already purchased it, you can use it for three consecutive days).
After traveling 7 kilometers by vehicle from the entrance, we’ll arrive at the Visitor Center, where we’ll prepare for the ascent.
Our first break will be at Camp Chileno, two hours from our departure point. Here, we’ll have 15 minutes to rest and eat something quick and light to prevent our bodies from getting too cold. After the break, we’ll begin the final leg of our trek, a 1 hour and 15 minute hike to Camp Torres. From there, we’ll continue the ascent up a rocky moraine to the Mirador de la Laguna and Base Torres viewpoint (approximately one hour).
At the viewpoint, we’ll have 30 minutes to eat our packed lunch and enjoy the surroundings. On the return journey, we’ll follow the same route in reverse. After a two-hour descent, we’ll arrive back at Camp Chileno, and then another two hours later at the Visitor Center, where our van will be waiting.
The return to Puerto Natales will be between 8:00 and 8:30 PM, depending on the group’s pace.
